Apetit Kotimainen Lake Fish Patties meet the demand for a responsible product made from Finnish lake fish – roach. The Lake Fish Patty has good nutritional values and a delicious taste. The Lake Fish Patty is lactose-free, gluten-free, soy-free and rich in Omega-3 fatty acids and Vitamin D. The roaches used in the lake fish patty are caught as a by-product of commercial fishing and are part of a management fishing chain that aims to rehabilitate water bodies and reduce their eutrophication. The fish stock will remain more vibrant and diverse as the living space is freed up for larger fish and predatory fish. The lake fish patties are made at the Apetit frozen food factory in Säkylä, on the shore of Lake Pyhäjärvi. Fish caught in management fishing from Pyhäjärvi is also used for the preparation of Lake Fish Patties. Increasing processing and use of domestic lake fish will reduce the use of imported fish and increase fishing jobs in Finland. It is estimated that one new job in the fisheries sector will create one new job in other sectors in the region as a spillover effect.
