Alexander Gabriel kävi viiden vuoden neuvottelut, jotta konjakin valmistusta säätelevän lain mukaan käyttämättä olevia tislauspannuja voitaisiin käyttää myös muuhun tuotantoon. Vuonna 1996 tämä toteutui ja syntyi Citadelle Gin. Citadelle on Ranskan ensimmäinen artesaani gin, ja onkin näyttänyt esimerkkiä sen jälkeen muille valmistajille ollessaan Ranskan ensimmäinen Gin de Château. Se on voittanut yli 110 palkintoa, mukaan lukien World Spirit Awardin “Spirit of the Year” ja Spirit Business lehden “Gin Master” vuonna 2017.
