The wine is mineral and elegant. It has a rich and upright acidity and a long aftertaste. Domdechant Werner took over the Hochheim winery in 1780. The farm has been making wines for the seventh generation. Hochheim is one of the best vineyards in Rheingau. The first mention of the Riesling grape is specifically from the village of Hochheim from 1435.
