Mascarpone is a fresh Italian cheese made from the cream. Mascarpone is a milky-white colour, easy to spread and very versatile for the preparation of many receipes (especially desserts). It's one of the main ingredients in the internationally well know Italian dessert Tiramisù, and its sometimes used instead of butter or cream to thicken and enrich pasta and risotto dishes.
