San Marzano -tomaatit kasvavat ainoastaan Agro-Sarnese Nocerinon alueella lähellä Napolia. Tämä kirkkaan punainen lajike maistuu raikkaalta ja voimakkaalta, olematta kuitenkaan hapan. San Marzano -tomaatti on EU:n alkuperäsuojaama laji (D.O.P), eli niitä ei siis voida tuottaa samanlaisina missään muualla. Käytetään erityisesti pizzan teossa, mutta soveltuu erinomaisesti myös pastoihin.
